Cosmic Cardio (Once Upon a Bite #2) by Charity Parkerson

This short read is about Cosmo, Tate's friend who helped him in book one.

Since it is so short, there probably will be spoilers in here

Tate was such a sad creature even before he was made a vampire. His parents literally left him at 18 and never came back. He stayed at the same apartment just in case they wanted to find him again. 20 years later, he has started a cycling business and likes to find hook ups at the same club that Tate was turned at.

Side note, maybe people should not go to this club.

Anyways, he gets bitten by this young fella, Aaron. Pissed off and scared, he calls Draco (the ancient Vamp Daddy from book one) and he and Tate come and help him. Since Draco's blood cancels out Aarons and is stronger, the next day Cosmo goes off to find the vamp who ruined his life on his bike because he didnt want to become a flying rodent.

A panic attack tried overtaking Cosmos.

He forgot he could turn into a bat now. “I don’t know how to do that. I don’t want to be a flying rodent.”

Even Cosmos heard the screech in his voice. He couldn’t help it. Too much was happening at once.

“A sky puppy,” Tate corrected, sounding hurt and slightly indignant.

He goes to this house and instead of seeing the young vamp, he finds Vega, an older hotter version of the vamp. And its instantconnection, Cosmo wants him and Vega wants Cosmo.

Vega is sad is his own right, as his husband of 20 years left him and Aaron for a younger ugly dude.

Cosmo figures out that Aaron wasnt bad, just mad at the world for what happened to him. (view spoiler) And becomes his adult, as he would have loved to have had when he was young.

Things happen and they all become a family.

For a short story, this packed in a heck of a lot. Also, as a short story, some things were glossed over and you just had to go with the flow.
